MY CHARACTER LAB ART PROGRAMME
The Group initiated a collaborative project with Heep Hong Society in late 2024 - the 'My Character Lab Art Programme'. The project aims to nurture the creative potential of children and youth with Special Educational Needs (SEN) through professional artistic guidance, enabling them to express their personal experiences and emotions through character design and drawing.
The four-month programme attracted over 30 SEN participants, featuring courses in picture book creation and animation production on emotional expression. The curriculum integrated two key elements: 'Strength-based Intervention' and 'Visual Arts Character Design'. Participants not only learned fundamental drawing techniques, colour application and character design principles but also explored diverse creative mediums, including traditional drawing, collage art and digital illustration software to create characters that reflect their personalities. This creative process serves as both a showcase for the participants' artistic talents and an effective platform for emotional expression.
Art exhibitions were held during the opening ceremony of Heep Hong Society's 'STARs Talent School Opening Ceremony and the Society’s events, displaying selected works from the participants. The exhibitions offered the public an intimate look at the artworks of SEN children and youth. Besides, selected participants had the chance to share creative concepts and personal growth experiences, demonstrating the programme's positive impact.
